Arturo Aspirar

"I'm an armororer by trade, but I'm also a gold and silver smith. I can make just about anything you'd want with silver, gold, or any metal really. The hard part is getting your hands on the metal!" He laughs. "I probably know more about silver weapons than jewelry. It's not that I can't make jewelry, mind ya. It's just that jewelry's fancy fancy. Ya know? It's more form than function, ain't it? And that's mostly art. Not that I can't make something pretty. I suppose I could. My swords and other weapons are pretty. But I'm always thinkin' bout function... making things that work... ya?"

Arturo hails from an island in the Divided Archipellico south of Treemek. The Aspirar family is a well respected clan in the Divided Archipellico, and they craft all sorts of items out of metal, as well as running a very large mushroom conglomerate. Arturo will happily explain that there are many different types of mushrooms, and dozens of his kin specialize in different varieties. He admits that even he couldn't begin to recognize them all!

Arturo himself apprenticed with his uncle as a gold and silver smith. But, fond of stories of travel and adventure, he studied the art of making armor and weapons. His own weapons are obviously of high quality. But his real passion is building. The dwarves as a race are very proud of their ability to craft and build weapons and structures. Arturo admits that he has been studying engineering in his spare time.

How he ended up on Oxx is a fairly typical refugee story on the Slope. He was comissioned to craft a sword for a noble on Treemek and when the sword was completed, he boarded a trade ship bound for that destination. But the ship encounted a storm and was unable to stay in the larger island's lee. The merchant ship's Captain swung out to avoid Forgehot, and by staying further out in the Slope, was able to bypass the radiers on the south end of Oxxten. But they were chased by pirates on the south-east end and missed the shallows of Oxxten. But their captain was able to swing into the leeward current and make it to Oxx. Arturo had to sell the sword he created to pay for living expenses. But, before he sold it, he showed it around at the local shops and was able to land a job, even if it didn't pay a decent wage.

In a very fortunate turn of events, Seph happened into his shop on the very day his employer fired him from his job. Arturo learned of Scriallig and the SlopeRunner and rushed to sign up for adventure!
